Abstract

Confiscating funds obtained through corruption is an effective tool that strengthens the capacity of criminal justice systems to combat these crimes and serves as a deterrent against perpetrators. Furthermore, such confiscation provides an additional source of revenue for the state treasury in general and for anti-corruption law enforcement activities in particular.
