Abstract

This dissertation examines alimony in marriage and post-divorce in Algerian legislation, focusing on its Sharia foundation, legal regulation, and enforcement mechanisms, The study shows that alimony is a legal and religious right based on family solidarity. Algerian law regulates it during marriage and after divorce by defining eligibility conditions, termination cases, duration, and methods of assessment,It also highlights judicial enforcement procedures and the role of the Alimony Fund as a modern mechanism to guarantee payment when enforcement becomes difficult. The study concludes that Algerian legislation has strengthened alimony protection through legal and judicial safeguards to ensure family stability and protect women and children after divorce
