Abstract
This dissertation examines alimony in marriage and post-divorce in Algerian
legislation, focusing on its Sharia foundation, legal regulation, and enforcement
mechanisms, The study shows that alimony is a legal and religious right based on
family solidarity. Algerian law regulates it during marriage and after divorce by
defining eligibility conditions, termination cases, duration, and methods of
assessment,It also highlights judicial enforcement procedures and the role of the
Alimony Fund as a modern mechanism to guarantee payment when enforcement
becomes difficult.
The study concludes that Algerian legislation has strengthened alimony protection
through legal and judicial safeguards to ensure family stability and protect women
and children after divorce
