Abstract

The study aimed to highlight the vital importance of the forest environment as a fundamental pillar for human survival, while emphasizing the unique characteristics of Algeria's forests and their multifaceted vital functions that encompass economic, environmental, and aesthetic dimensions. In light of the escalating violations against this national wealth, the study reviewed the efforts of the Algerian legislator in strengthening the legal framework through the enactment of Law No. 23-21 concerning forests and forest resources. This law introduced rigorous penal provisions aimed at deterring crimes against the forest cover and providing integrated criminal protection to ensure the preservation of its components from destruction and extinction.
