Abstract
With the increasing demand for efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions,
ride-sharing systems have emerged as a promising approach to enhancing mobility services.
This project presents the design and development of a mobile application that connects
passengers and drivers through a shared transportation platform. The system enables
passengers to search for available trips and reserve seats from their departure points to
their destinations, while allowing drivers to publish and manage their trips.
A key feature of the application is its ability to identify passengers traveling to the same
or nearby destinations and assign them to the same taxi whenever possible. The system
relies on a smart matching mechanism based on departure time compatibility, geographical
proximity, and seat availability. This approach improves vehicle utilization, reduces
transportation costs, alleviates traffic congestion, and lowers fuel consumption.
By facilitating efficient ride sharing, the proposed solution contributes to providing more
sustainable, economical, and convenient transportation services.
