Abstract ThepresentresearchstudiestheworksofEdgarAllanPoe.ItdiscussesEdgarsstyle ofwritingshortstoriesandmainlyfocusesontheaspectsofhumanpsycheandcreationof horrorinPoe’sshortstories.ItthrowslightonthewaysinwhichEdgarhaspresentedthe differentaspectsofpsycheandalsotakesintoaccountthecreationofhorrorintheselected shortstories-TheBlackCatandtheMaskoftheRedDeath.Moreover,itemphasizesthe mannerinwhichEdgarAllanPoereflectshisawarenessofthecomplexrealitiesofhumanlife andinusingGothicFictiontochoosetheelementsofhorrorandsuspenseinordertopicture outtheaspectsofhumanmindandnature.ThestudywillshedlightsontwoofPoe’sshort storieswhichwillbringintolighthowEdgarsuccessfullypresentsthethinkingprocessesof the human brain,in a specificstyleof writing short stories of horror andsuspense.
