Abstract
This study aimed to uncover the relationship between psychological resilience and learning motivation among third-year secondary school students. It also sought to determine the levels of both psychological resilience and learning motivation, as well as to identify whether there are statistically significant differences in psychological resilience and learning motivation attributable to gender. To achieve these objectives, a descriptive-correlational research design was adopted. A stratified random sample of 110 male and female students was selected from the study population. Data collection relied on two scales: first, the Psychological Resilience Scale developed by Brien et al. (2008) and adapted to the Arabic environment by HamoudaSalima et al. (2018); second, the Learning Motivation Scale developed by Yousef Qatami (1989).
The collected data were used to test the hypotheses utilizing the following statistical methods: arithmetic means, standard deviations, frequencies, Pearson correlation coefficient (to examine the relationship), and the T-test (to analyze differences).
The study yielded the following results:
• There is a statistically significant positive correlational relationship between psychological resilience and learning motivation.
• The level of psychological resilience among third-year secondary school students is moderate.
• The level of learning motivation among third-year secondary school students is moderate.
• There are no statistically significant differences in psychological resilience attributable to the gender variable among third-year secondary school students.
• There are no statistically significant differences in learning motivation attributable to the gender variable among third-year secondary school students
