Abstract

In thisacademicthesis (Master'sdegree, University of M'sila), weaddressed the production of an audiovisual portrait about the martyr Bachir Bensaleh (1920–1960), highlightinghis militant and politicalcareerduring the LiberationRevolution, as well as severalmilestones in his social life. The studyrelied on bothhistorical and descriptive methodologies to document the martyr's life and shed light on itsmostsignificant phases. • The Theoretical Framework: Explores the concepts, types, and the media and aesthetic functions of the portrait genre. • The Practical Framework: Focuses on the three stages of audiovisual production: pre-production (planning and location scouting), production (filming techniques and set design), and post-production (editing and sound mixing). The study aims to highlight the martyr's human values as a role model for young, sacrificing freedom fighters, there by enriching the national memory archives. Ultimately, the research concludes that the audiovisual portrait is an effective medium for connecting rising generations with the heroic deeds of the martyrs. The thesis concludes by affirming that the sacrifices of the martyr "Si Bachir" represent a legacy that profoundly deserves documentation and appreciation.
