الهلال الخصيب من خلال مذكرات معاصر لورنس العرب أنموذجًا (1909-1935)

Abstract

يتناول هذا البحث دور توماس إدوارد لورانس في منطقة الهلال الخصيب خلال الحرب العالمية الأولى، والصورة التي رسمها لهذه المنطقة في مذكراته ورسائله، ويهدف إلى تحليل ظروف نشأته وتكوينه، ودوره في الثورة العربية الكبرى، وعلاقته المزدوجة بالأمير فيصل والقيادة البريطانية، وكذلك الكشف عن صورة البنية السياسية والاجتماعية للهلال الخصيب كما وردت في كتابيه "أعمدة الحكمة السبعة" و"ثورة في الصحراء"، كما يتناول البحث التناقض بين وعود لورانس للعرب والاتفاقيات الاستعمارية السرية كسايكس-بيكو، وأثر التقسيمات الاستعمارية على وحدة المنطقة. ويخلص البحث إلى أن مذكرات لورانس وثيقة مهمة لفهم تحولات المشرق العربي، لكنها تحتاج إلى قراءة نقدية، وأن لورانس لم يكن بطلاً أسطورياً ولا خائناً مزدوجاً، بل ضابط استخبارات استثمرته بريطانيا لتفكيك الدولة العثمانية، ورومانسياً آمن بالقضية العربية لكنه اصطدم بالواقع الاستعماري. الكلمات المفتاحية: لورانس، الهلال الخصيب، الثورة العربية الكبرى، سايكس-بيكو. Abstract: This research examines T.E. Lawrence's role in the Fertile Crescent during WWI and his portrayal of the region in his memoirs. It analyzes his background, his role in the Great Arab Revolt, his dual relationship with Prince Faisal and British leadership, and the image of the region's political and social structure in "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" and "Revolt in the Desert." It also addresses the contradiction between his promises to Arabs and secret colonial agreements like Sykes-Picot, and the impact of colonial divisions on the region's unity. The research concludes that Lawrence's memoirs are important but require critical reading, and that Lawrence was neither a legendary hero nor a double traitor, but an intelligence officer exploited by Britain to dismantle the Ottoman state, and a romantic who believed in the Arab cause but collided with colonial reality.
