Abstract
This thesis presents the design and development of an educational robotic arm called
CLY, which aims to enhance the teaching and learning of robotics, programming, and
automation in a practical and accessible manner. The project seeks to address the limitations of
current educational robotics platforms—such as high cost, complexity, and age restrictions—
by offering a modular, scalable, user-friendly alternative suitable for various educational levels.
The research includes a theoretical study of robotics and educational technologies,
followed by the mechanical and electronic design of the robotic arm, as well as future
developments such as the implementation of an accessible programming interface. A
progressive learning path was developed, enabling students to progress from basic motion
control to algorithmic reasoning and systems integration.
The CLY arm was built and tested in real-world conditions, demonstrating its potential
as a self-learning tool and classroom assistant. The results confirm the effectiveness of
educational robotics as a tool for enhancing student engagement, logical reasoning, and
practical skills. This work contributes to making robotics education more inclusive, adaptable,
and compatible with the pedagogical needs of modern STEM curricula.
