Abstract

Abstract:
This study aims to highlight the role of new media in promoting information literacy. It was conducted to answer the main research question: To what extent do the contents of the A-rticle page reflect information literacy standards in terms of source credibility and scientific methods of information processing? We adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, suitable for the nature of our study, and used a content analysis form as a data collection tool. A purposive sample of (100) scientific publications was analyzed. The results revealed the following:
• The study showed that the page relies heavily on Arabic for its content, with limited use of mixed languages.
• The results indicated that the page's content primarily focuses on higher education and scientific research news, as well as announcements of conferences and symposia.
• The study revealed that narrative and compilation styles are the most frequently used in presenting the content.
• The results showed that interactive elements are used to a limited extent, with a significant percentage of publications lacking any interactive elements. The results showed that the target audience consisted primarily of students, professors, and researchers within the university environment, with limited reach to the general public.
The results also showed that interaction on the page remained limited to moderate levels, and was predominantly positive.
