النهضة العربية في كتابات جورج أنطونيوس

Abstract

تناولت هذه الدراسة موضوع النهضة العربية في كتابات جورج أنطونيوس، من خلال دراسة مفهوم النهضة وسياقها التاريخي والفكري، ثم تحليل رؤية أنطونيوس لعوامل نشأتها وتطورها وعلاقتها بالقومية العربية. وركزت الدراسة على دور اللغة والثقافة والجمعيات، وموقفه من الثورة العربية ونتائجها، مع عرض أبرز الانتقادات الموجهة إلى تصوراته، وصولًا إلى إبراز قيمتها وحدودها الفكرية والتاريخية. وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن النهضة العربية كانت نتاج تفاعل عوامل ثقافية وفكرية وسياسية متعددة، وأن كتابات أنطونيوس قدمت إسهامًا مهمًا في دراسة اليقظة العربية والحركة القومية، مع ضرورة قراءتها قراءة نقدية وفي ضوء تعدد التفسيرات التاريخية. الكلمات المفتاحية: لنهضة العربية؛ جورج أنطونيوس؛ اليقظة العربية؛ القومية العربية؛ اللغة العربية؛ الثقافة العربية؛ الجمعيات العربية؛ الثورة العربية. Abstract This study examines the Arab Renaissance in the writings of George Antonius, focusing on his interpretation of its origins, development, and relationship with Arab nationalism. It explores the role of language, culture, associations, and the Arab Revolt in shaping Arab consciousness, while also analyzing the main criticisms directed at Antonius’s views. The study concludes that the Arab Renaissance resulted from the interaction of various cultural, intellectual, and political factors, and that Antonius’s writings represent an important contribution to the study of the Arab Awakening and Arab nationalism, while requiring a critical reading in light of different historical interpretations.
