Abstract
In his most important book, Ethics, Spinoza dealt with traditional ideas about God, man, knowledge, emotions, feelings, and the path to virtue and happiness. He saw that God and nature are one; God is nature and nature is God. As for man, according to Spinoza, there are no separate substances, because thought and extension are manifestations of one entity, which is God. And because geometry was, in Spinoza's time, the clearest and most precise model, he chose the geometric method to present his ideas in general and to prove ethics in particular.
