Abstract
This study aimed to identify the role of organizational support in improving job satisfaction among the employees of the Presidency of the University of M’sila, by examining employees’ perceptions of the support provided by the organization and determining the extent to which this support influences their level of job satisfaction.
The study was based on the following main research question: What is the role of organizational support in improving job satisfaction among the employees of the Presidency of the University of M’sila? To answer this question, the descriptive analytical method was adopted as it is the most appropriate approach for the nature of the study. A questionnaire was used as the main data collection tool, in addition to interviews. The study was conducted on a sample consisting of (40) employees from the Presidency of the University of M’sila.
The research instrument included two main sections. The first section focused on organizational support through its dimensions represented by organizational justice, leaders’ supportive behavior toward subordinates, participation in decision-making, and support and self-affirmation among employees. The second section addressed job satisfaction. The collected data were analyzed using a set of statistical methods, including frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean, and standard deviation, through the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS V20).
The study reached several important findings, the most significant of which is the presence of a positive perception among the sample members regarding the various dimensions of organizational support. The results showed that employees perceive a certain level of organizational justice and support from leaders, in addition to the existence of participation in decision-making and a sense of the value and importance of their roles within the institution. The findings also indicated that organizational support contributes to improving employees’ job satisfaction by providing a work environment based on care, appreciation, and trust.
Based on these findings, the study recommended the necessity of strengthening organizational support practices within university institutions, paying attention to the human aspect of employees, developing leadership styles, and expanding employees’ participation in decision-making, given their role in enhancing job satisfaction and achieving organizational stability.
