Abstract
This dissertation examines the role of the Judicial Police in investigating
cybercrime under Algerian legislation by highlighting the legal framework
governing its powers and responsibilities in detecting crimes, collecting
digital evidence, and submitting it to the competent judicial authorities. It
also addresses the concept of cybercrime and its most common forms, such
as electronic fraud, data theft, and hacking, while emphasizing its distinctive
characteristics and the difficulties associated with proving such crimes due to
the nature of digital evidence.
The study further sheds light on the investigation and inquiry mechanisms
used to combat cybercrime, as well as the extent to which modern
technological tools are employed to identify and track offenders. It concludes
that enhancing the effectiveness of cybercrime investigations requires
specialized training, the development of technical capabilities, and the
modernization of the legal framework in order to keep pace with rapid
technological advancements.
