These lecture notes, entitled Heat Transfer II, have been developed for third-year undergraduate students in Energy Engineering as part of the sixth-semester curriculum. Serving as a continuation of the Heat Transfer I module, this course aims to deepen students' understanding of advanced heat transfer phenomena and their applications in engineering systems. The material covers three major topics: convective heat transfer, including conservation equations, boundary layer theory, dimensionless analysis, and correlations for forced and natural convection; radiative heat transfer, addressing the fundamentals of thermal radiation, blackbody laws, radiative properties of real surfaces, and radiation exchange between surfaces; and heat exchangers, focusing on their classification, thermal analysis methods, overall heat transfer coefficient, logarithmic mean temperature difference (LMTD) method, effectiveness–NTU approach, and practical considerations related to boilers and thermal efficiency. To enhance learning outcomes and develop analytical skills, each chapter is complemented by illustrative examples and application exercises. These lecture notes provide students with the theoretical knowledge and practical tools required for the analysis and design of thermal systems encountered in energy and mechanical engineering applications.
