Abstract

This research study aims to uncover the psychological profile of adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in light of digital addiction. It addresses the most prominent psychological and behavioral traits of autistic children within the context of digital addiction, in addition to the impact of digital addiction on social interaction skills, the severity of psychological symptoms, and the underlying motivations behind the excessive use of digital devices. Furthermore, it explores the nature of the intersection between Autism Spectrum Disorder and digital addiction behavior. The cases of adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder who exhibit digital addiction were tracked using the "case study" approach. A set of tools was utilized, including observation, semi-structured clinical interviews, the administration of the Kimberly Young Internet Addiction Test (IAT), the Psychological State Scale for Adolescents and Adults, and the Pednelli model as an explanatory framework.
