Abstract

Summary in English: This pedagogical publication deals with the most important modern sociological theories aimed at second-year undergraduate students. It begins by defining the concept of theory and its relationship to scientific research, then presents the established classical trends such as positivism, Marxism, and the theory of social action, highlighting the contributions of Durkheim, Weber, and Parsons. It also touches on syncretic and critical theories, discusses Cright Mills’ contributions to the concept of social imagination, and presents theoretical alternatives such as symbolic interactionism, phenomenology, and ethnomethodology, leading up to structuralism and post-structuralism, and concludes with a study of modernism and postmodernism theories and some of their contemporary figures. The publication aims to enable the student to understand the development of sociological thought and to analyze social phenomena using modern theoretical tools.
