Abstract
This study aims to highlight the humanitarian and revolutionary journey of the two martyr nurses, Fatima Iratni and Maryam Abdelaziz, as exemplary figures of Algerian women who contributed significantly to supporting the Algerian War of Independence and made great sacrifices for the freedom and independence of their homeland. The study examines their upbringing and training in the field of nursing, as well as their decision to join the ranks of the National Liberation Army, where they devoted their medical skills to serving both freedom fighters and civilians during the years of armed struggle.
The study also reviews the major stages of their revolutionary activities by shedding light on the humanitarian and national missions they carried out in the revolutionary regions of M’Sila Province. Particular attention is given to the circumstances surrounding their martyrdom in the village of Bouhamadou on February 26, 1957, while performing a noble humanitarian mission. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the important role played by Algerian women during the War of Independence through the example of these two heroines, who successfully combined humanitarian duty with national commitment.
This historical audiovisual reportage seeks to contribute to the preservation of national memory and to highlight one of the most inspiring chapters in the history of the Algerian Revolution by documenting the lives of the two martyrs and showcasing their enduring sacrifices, which made them symbols of loyalty, courage, and devotion to the nation.
