Sensor technologies have evolved significantly throughout the years and specifically the ones based on plasmonics and surface plasmons phenomenon which are excitations of the collective electrons on the surface of metals and since their discovery researchers sought to implement this phenomenon for the unique properties offered by this technology, this works goes through the basic explanation of this phenomenon then its application in sensors and finally a study of a proposed plasmonic sensor for the specific function as temperature sensor.
