:The present study aimed to identify the level of emotional labor (emotional stress) among nursery teachers in the city of M'Sila and to determine the dominant dimensions of this stress. The study employed a descriptive-analytical approach, involving a sample of (31) nursery teachers selected through cluster sampling from six different nurseries. To achieve the study’s objectives, an Emotional Labor Scale was administered after verifying its psychometric properties (validity and reliability).
The results of the study revealed the following:
Nursery teachers in M'Sila generally experience a high level of emotional labor.
All dimensions of emotional labor recorded high levels, ranked by intensity as follows:
Emotional Courteousness: Ranked first with a very high level.
Frequency of Emotional Display: Ranked second with a very high level.
Emotional Expressions: Ranked third with a high level.
Emotional Dissonance: Ranked last, yet still at a high level.
The study concluded that the nature of working with early childhood requires significant emotional effort that sometimes exceeds the psychological capacities of the teachers, leading to the depletion of their emotional energy.
